# The Hans Gruber This cocktail was originally an attempt to reverse-engineer a cocktail called the Alexander Wept, a standby of the bar Kask in Portland. It turned out similar but not identical, but I like it enough to keep making it under a new name. This cocktail involves smoking the glass with cherry-bark smoke. The best way to do this is to produce smoke, either by smoke-gun or by simply setting fire to a piece of cherry bark, in some kind of basin and leaving the glass in there. ## Recipe - 1½oz Bulleit Rye - ⅔oz Laphroaig - ½oz Cherry Heering - ¼oz Amaro Lucano - 3 drops aromatic or spice-heavy bitters Smoke an Old Fashioned glass with cherry bark using a preferred method, and then mix the spirits in the glass with a big cube.
